October is one day old, and it has a number

Thursday, 1 October 2026

1 + 0 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 12 → 1 + 2 = 3

Dear Reader,

Second 3 in three days, so I will take a different corner of it.

A 3 makes things funny. It is the part people like about it, and it is also the part held against them, usually at precisely the wrong moment. You find the line at the funeral and half the room is grateful and the other half files you under does not take anything seriously.

The joke is usually how a 3 carries weight in a shape that can be lifted. Ask anybody who has sat in a hospital corridor with one.

On a 3 day the reflex runs stronger. You will find the line that makes a difficult thing bearable, and you will say it, and somebody will look at you.

That is a fair price. Somebody else in the room needed it.

Which one is tugging at you?

Your own chart

It is the first of October, which is a good morning for the smallest number most of us never bother working out.

Your Personal Month is your Personal Year plus the number of the calendar month. If yours is a 1, October gives one plus ten, which is eleven, and eleven is a master, so it stays. That is an 11.

It is a blunter instrument, and that is exactly what makes it useful. A whole year is long enough that you cannot feel the shape of it while you are standing inside it, which is why nobody ever describes one properly until it is over. Four weeks you can actually check. You reach the 31st, you look back, and either the number described it or it did not.

That is the only way I know to work out whether any of this is any use to you. Not by being told. By running four weeks against one number and seeing what you think at the end of it.

It has only just started. It is a reasonable one to test it on.

Sit with one of these:

Nothing needs deciding today. It is only the first.

A big hug,
The Fortune Number

P.S. Send me your Personal Month and what the four weeks actually turn out to be. I will keep the two together.
